This waterfront masterplan was conceived as a dynamic coastal destination—one that would integrate leisure, hospitality, and residential life into a singular, cohesive experience. Located in a metropolitan city in the central Philippine islands, the site was envisioned as a vibrant seafront gateway, designed to serve both the local community and international visitors. By revitalizing the existing harborfront and introducing new
programs, the development aimed to foster social connection, enhance quality of life, and redefine the city’s relationship with its maritime edge. Situated near an international airport, the site was also intended to serve as an open-air extension of the travel experience, offering a welcoming and memorable arrival or departure point.
The proposed shoreline development blends hospitality and residential spaces to maximize waterfront and skyline views. Low-rise buildings with terraces and promenades foster connection to the surroundings, while public plazas and event areas bring year-round activity. Informed by site studies and stakeholder input, Aidea’s masterplan honors maritime heritage and climate, promoting openness, access, and coastal resilience grounded in community and place.
Sustainability was central to the design approach. Building forms were optimized through environmental simulations to harness natural light and ventilation, reducing reliance on mechanical systems. Green corridors and landscaped interventions were integrated to support biodiversity and comfort. The proposed use of regionally sourced materials and smart infrastructure reinforced the project’s environmental ambitions. Though the scheme remains unbuilt, it stands as a demonstration of Aidea’s ability to develop context-aware, future-ready environments that elevate both the user experience and the cityscape.
