One Museum Park West, now known as The Grant, is a 54-story residential tower in Chicago’s Central Station development, adjacent to the city’s iconic Museum Campus. As the architectural complement to One Museum Park, it anchors the southern edge of Grant Park and contributes to the evolving identity of the South Loop skyline. Encompassing over 60,000 square meters, the project offers lakefront residential living through a refined architectural form.
Its curved façade and stepped massing respond to the city’s grid and skyline, while generous glazing maximizes views across Lake Michigan and Grant Park. Amenities are distributed across a multi-level podium, enhancing the residential experience. Aidea’s BIM integration ensured these features were resolved with precision, facilitating coordination across disciplines and maintaining design integrity through all stages.
Our contributions helped realize an ambitious vertical community with clarity, efficiency, and consistency. Working in close collaboration with Pappageorge Haymes, Aidea led the digital design development and documentation effort. At a time when BIM adoption was still emerging, our team delivered a highly detailed model that served as a shared coordination platform—streamlining communication among architecture, engineering, and construction partners. Aidea’s early implementation of BIM on the project introduced a structured, model-driven workflow that reduced design ambiguity and construction risk. Clash detection, drawing generation, and quantity take-offs were all conducted through the central model, improving project efficiency and minimizing rework. These capabilities, applied at a high-rise scale, helped the team navigate the technical demands of a complex tower while preserving architectural ambition. Our work not only enabled the timely delivery of a prominent residential development but also affirmed the value of integrated digital design as a tool for design clarity and control.
